PGA Travelers Championship Picks And Parlays

PGA Travelers Championship Picks And Parlays

The PGA TOUR couldn’t have asked for a better restart to the 2019-20 season. Both The Charles Schwabb Challenge and RBC Heritage gave us exciting Sunday leaderboards and dramatic finishes. Whether you love sports or are a gambler, what more can you ask for? We now turn our attention north for the Travelers Championship, which features another excellent field that includes 15 of the top-20 players in the world, and today we’ll have a look at our picks and parlays for the event.

We have yet another ball-striking track. It’s one of the rare PGA TOUR courses  to play under 6,900 yards, which means distance off the tee won’t be as important again. Sorry big bombers.

Just like the last two weekends, iron play and especially those second shots into greens will be the key to winning this weekend. I’m expecting a winning score in the high teens and a packed leaderboard come Sunday.

PGA Travelers Championship Picks & Parlays

Yes, we hit big on Webb Simpson last weekend, but you are only as good as your next bet, so let’s get it! I’ve dug through the data and done the research. When it comes to my picks, I’m looking for guys who are surgeons and with good course history. Here are my three picks to win this weekend’s Travelers Championship event outright:

Paul Casey +4000

First post-reset start, but he loves the Travelers: four top-5 finishes and a 17th finish for Casey in his past five Travelers starts. His scoring average at this course is a ridiculous 67.1, and no one in this field with over four rounds played here has had better true strokes gained. Casey has lost in a playoff here to Bubba Watson in 2015, so I’d say the golf Gods kind of owe him one. He’s made all seven cuts he’s played in this year, let’s just hope he is not rusty.

Sungjae Im +3000

Yes, I got burned by Im last weekend, but I’m not going to let one bad showing sour me on him. He is too good and his game is built for this track. As I said above, consistent ball-strikers and solid short games is what I am looking for and he’s an elite ball-striker. He’s been the best on approach since the restart and seventh off the tee in the past two weeks. Because of his poor showing last weekend, this is an overreaction. We are getting some great value here on Im just like we got on Simpson last weekend.

Bubba Watson +3000

Yes, this is chalky, but let’s take a look at the facts. Watson has three wins, six top 10s and eight top 25s in 13 starts at TPC River Highlands. He’s also played extremely well post-quarantine. He’s shot just one round in the 70s since the Tour’s return at the Charles Schwab. He finished seventh at Colonial and 52nd at RBC Heritage, where he ended on a final-round, six-under 65.

He’s gained strokes in every area the last two starts except for around the greens and on the greens last week. He is now back in familiar territory in Cromwell and his right to left game is key at TPC River Highlands. Make sure you include Bubba in your picks for the Travelers Championship this weekend.

Just a note but make sure you always are shopping around for the best lines. For my posts the lines are usually from DraftKings or The SuperBook at the time the post is written

A couple of golfers including Brooks Koepka and Simpson, have withdrawn because of COVID-19 concerns. Be sure you to stay up to date as there might be some more withdrawals before this event actually tees off.

That concludes our picks and parlays for the Travelers Championship 2020, good luck, whoever you go for.
