Week 11 on the NFL schedule for 2020 finally showed us some good matchups and some good football games as well.  Now, for Monday Night Football, there is potentially another good one ready to unfold down in Tampa Bay when Tom Brady and the 7-3 Buccaneers host Jared Goff and the 6-3 LA Rams coming off a 23-16 win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 9.

Tampa Bay’s On The Prowl

Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady has already started in 25 Monday Night Football games and has won an astounding 18 and lost 7.  Tom likes Monday Night Football.  Tampa Bay lost a hard one to the Saints in Week 9, then came back strong to defeat the Carolina Panthers in Week 10.

Tampa Bay head coach Bruce Arians got a huge windfall when he lured Tom Brady away from the New England Patriots, and then Ron Gronkowski followed, with Antonio Brown also showing up in Tampa Bay.  No head coach in the NFL could possibly ask for more.

As a Buc, Brady has thrown for 23 touchdowns and 2,739 yards in the air with seven interceptions.  Rams quarterback Jared Goff, in his fifth year in the NFL, has scored 13 passing touchdowns for 2,447 yards in the air and six interceptions.

Tampa Bay running back Ron Jones is having a great year, as well for the Buccaneers.  Against the Panthers, Jones rushed for 192 yards on 23 carries and one touchdown.  So far this season, he has rushed for a total of 730 yards on 143 attempts and five touchdowns, while Leonard Fournette has 59 carries for 244 yards and 2 touchdowns for Tampa Bay.

The Bucs Need This Win

The Bucs are currently one game behind the 8-2 New Orleans Saints in the NFC South and, since the Saints have won both games against Tampa Bay this season, the Buccaneers will have to finish with a better record than New Orleans if they have any hopes of winning the NFC South division title.

But first, Tampa Bay will have to get by the Rams, who are kind of on a roll right now after having defeated the tough Seahawks team 23-16 in week 9 with Goff passing for over 300 yards.  The Rams D sacked Russell Wilson six times and intercepted him twice.  They got to rest up on a bye in Week 10 and they should be ready to go.

Tampa Bay fans will be remembering the meeting last year between the Rams and the Bucs when Jameis Winston was still in Tampa Bay and he and Goff managed to put up outrageous numbers.  Goff threw for 517 yards in the air, but also put up three picks.  The Rams still scored 40 points, but Winston threw 4 touchdown passes and put up an impressive 55 points to defeat the Rams in a great shoot out football game.  The final score of that game, 55-40.

Tonight, much will depend on how much the Rams D can pressure Brady and get him out of that nice clean pocket he loves to throw from.  The Saints and the Bears got to him and beat the Bucs; the Rams defensive front has its work cut out for them tonight.

Odds On Brady To Get It Done

But Brady still has some big healthy targets in Brown, Ron Gronkowski, Cameron Brate and Chris Godwin, but he must get the ball out quickly.  The Buccaneers are favored by either three or four points, depending on where you look, and the Over/Under is set at a precipitously low 48.5 considering the fire power these two fine quarterbacks bring to the game.
