We’re back with our NFL Week 12 picks, and the slate is packed with a ton of great matchups. Sometimes I’ll lose, but hopefully I’ll win more often. Remember, always #trusttheprocess
Vik’s Picks For NFL Week 12
Here are our three favorite picks for Sunday’s games in NFL week 12!
Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals +7
The Steelers looked atrocious on Thursday Night Football against the Cleveland Browns, so they’ll be looking to bounce back this weekend. Meanwhile, the Bengals come into this game winless at 0-10. Will they get in the win column?
I’m not saying the Bengals can win this game, but I see them hanging around in this one for a few reasons. To start with, Cincy will treat this divisional game like their Super Bowl. I know the Bengals are in “tank mode,” but these are professionals. No player wants to go 0-16.
The Steelers also come into this game banged up, missing two of their best offensive weapons in James Conner and JuJu Smith-Schuster. Also, don’t forget, Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey is suspended because of his part in that ugly fight involving Mason Rudolph and Myles Garrett. And, speaking of Rudolph, he’s looked terrible in his last few outings. Now he’ll be without his center, best WR and starting RB.
Also, Mike Tomlin has done a great coaching job this season, but the Steelers as big road favorites is not a spot I have faith in. There is also reverse line movement on the Bengals. While 60% of the public bets are on the Steelers, the line has now gone down to Pittsburgh -6.5 in some spots. If you are going to take the Bengals, make sure you shop around, as there are still some 7’s available.
All in all, this is just a good situational spot to take the Bengals as our pick, so I’ll take the points in what I envision to be a low-scoring grind-it-out type game in NFL week 12.
Dallas Cowboys +6 at New England Patriots
I’m always scared to bet against the Patriots, because let’s face it, no matter the situation, they always win. So why the Cowboys?
They can get pressure on Brady with just their front four. That has always been one way to beat the Patriots. The Cowboys have the talent to do that on the defensive side of the football. On the flip side, Dallas also comes into this game as the top-ranked offense in the NFL per DVOA. While the Pats have an elite defense, the Cowboys have balance on offense that will keep them hanging around in this one.
The Patriots are also banged up. From their offensive line, to WR core, to Brady himself (elbow). The injuries in the NFL recently don’t help their already struggling offense.
Like the Steelers game, this matchup has the exact same scenario when it comes to reverse line movement. The public is naturally on the Patriots at a 59% clip, but some sharp money has come in on Dallas, driving this line down to Pats -5.5 in some places. Again, make sure you shop around if you are taking Dallas.
Ultimately, I see the Pats winning this game, but the Cowboys will cover.
Green Bay Packers at San Francisco 49ers -3
The public loves the Packers in this NFL matchup, but I am going the other way with my pick for week 12. This one is all about the matchups. The Niners should be getting George Kittle and Emmanuel Sanders back, boosting their offense instantly. Green Bay is horrendous against the run, allowing 114 rushing yards per game (29th in NFL). Look for Tevin Coleman to run wild in this one.
The Packers also struggle covering the tight end position, which is why Kittle is so important. Green Bay is allowing 5.7 receptions (26th) and giving up 63 yards per game (29th) to tight ends. Look for Kittle to make a splash in his return.
On the other side of the ball, look for the Niners to bring pressure to Aaron Rodgers all game long. SF is number one in pressure rate in the NFL.
This game is on Sunday night, which means Vegas is going to need the Niners big-time, since the public is on Green Bay. Look for San Francisco to pull away late.
NFL Week 12 Survivor Pick:
If you are still alive in your survivor pool and haven’t used the Cleveland Browns this season, what are you waiting for? While the Browns have been disappointing this season, you couldn’t ask for a better matchup.
3-team Underdog Parlay:
New York Jets +3, Denver Broncos +4, Tampa Bay Bucs +4.5
If you are looking for a fun, underdog parlay, look no further than the Jets, Broncos and Bucs. Underdog parlays are always a risky proposition, but all three of these teams seem like “live dogs” this weekend. Meaning, underdogs that have a chance to win straight up. If you are looking to have some fun, give this parlay a sprinkle.
So, there you have it for our picks and parlays for NFL week 12. Good luck with your wagers and hopefully this sports intel helps with your Sunday NFL card.
