MLB 2020 Regular Season Futures: Our Top Props

MLB 2020 Regular Season Futures: Our Top Props

The MLB season is finally here! It has been a long wait for baseball to return, but better late than never, right? With a 60-game season, literally anything can happen, but the bets must go on! I did some research and put together a list of my favorite player props for the MLB 2020 regular season.

MLB 2020 Regular Season Player Props

Here are my four bets:

Hits Leader: Ozzie Albies (+2200)

For this bet, I like someone that bats towards the top of the order and isn’t expected to miss many games. Also, I love that player to be someone that bats after or next to a solid player. We get all of that in Albies here. Albies is coming off a solid 2019 season in which he recorded an NL-best 189 hits across 160 games in just his second full season.

He shouldn’t miss too many games and is expected to hit second with OF Ronald Acuna Jr. in the leadoff spot. He also walked more often and struck out less from 2018 to 2019, a big sign of good things to come for a young player.

Runs Leader: DJ LeMahieu (+4000)

If you listened to our Sports Intel podcast this week, you know how much we all love the Yankees this season. Yes, that is not going out on a limb by any sort, but even if you are a hater, you have to admit this team is loaded. I have no doubt that if everyone stays healthy, it will be the best offense in baseball.

So, if you believe in the Yankees and their offense, this is a no-brainer MLB props bet as LeMahieu finds himself tied for 22nd in the odds to score the most runs in the 2020 season. Looking back at last season, he scored 109 runs and finished fourth in the MVP voting. Stanton and Aaron Judge are going to put on a show if they stay healthy. Look for them to drive him home all day, everyday. At these odds, he is just too good to pass up in this spot.

Manny Machado to hit 20+ Home Runs (+900)

I like Machado on the Padres. They have a nice little squad that can make some noise this season if things can go their way. For this bet, I like Machado to hit 20+, especially because 7 of his games this season will be against the Rockies at Coors Field. We know that Coors Field is the most friendly park to hitters through the August and September months. Double digits games are the norm, and with Machado getting a good amount of games there, I like this bet at those odds.

Most Regular Season Home runs: Jorge Soler (+3300)

I might be biased here because I’ve watched Soler hit HR after HR since his Chicago Cubs days. The guy is an absolute monster when it comes to hitting the long ball which is why he’s in our props for the MLB 2020 season. Last year Soler finished 3rd in home runs with 48 and that should continue this season. Another fun fact I learned by watching him all those years is that he hates the cold. He’d always be so bundled up and would start the season slow every spring. Of course, then heat up come summer time and mash the ball. Lucky for him and us here, this 2020 season starts in July, exactly how he likes it, nice and warm.

Soler hit 20 home runs the final two months of last season and finished in the 98th percentile in barrel percentage, 97th percentile in hard-hit percentage and 96th percentile in exit velocity. Those are impressive stats, no matter how you put it. Call this a homer pick, but at these MLB odds, this bet is too good to pass up.

That’s it for our player props picks for the 2020 MLB regular season, good luck everyone.
