Daily Picks: Bears, Steelers Solid For NFL Week 5

Daily Picks: Bears, Steelers Solid For NFL Week 5

There’s no doubt that certain NFL teams are looking to turn things around heading into Week 5 and the next round of games could include more than just a couple of upsets.  Taking a look across the league, it’s time to figure out who is going to come out on top and who’s worthy of seeing a little extra gambling action.  This is just a taste of what’s coming.

The Buffalo Bills (money at +140) are more than likely going to come out ahead when they take on the Tennessee Titans.  The Bills are currently ranked in second in overall defense and successfully shut down Tom Brady and the New England Patriots this past Sunday, 16-10, and will be able to do it again this Sunday against the 2-2 Titans.  It promises to be a tight game, though, and one false move could allow the Tennessee squad to pull ahead.

The Pittsburgh Steelers (+160) are going to take down the Baltimore Ravens.  The only real win the Ravens have had this year was in Week 1 when they destroyed the Miami Dolphins; however, that game shouldn’t count.  The Dolphins are having a horrible year and almost anyone could beat them.  Since then, the Ravens haven’t been organized and has allowed nine touchdowns in the last two weeks.  No one should expect anything different this week.

The Chicago Bears (-216) are going to take on the Oakland Raiders in an unfamiliar setting.  Both teams are traveling to London for the NFL’s 25th UK game.  In addition to the fact that the Bears were already favored, they will have another advantage with the loss of Raiders linebacker Vontaze Burfict.  He’s out for the rest of the season after putting a vicious hit on Indianapolis Colts tight end Jack Doyle last Sunday.  The Bears should definitely win this one with ease, but if you want to try for the Raiders, they’re at +184.

The Washington Redskins are ready for the Pats; however, the Pats have been getting most of the wagers so far.  The Skins have something to prove and are looking to mix up its playbook ahead of this crucial game, but it most likely won’t be enough.  There’s a rumor that the team’s head coach, Jay Gruden, could be forced out after the game, and that detail is going to cause some distractions off the field ahead of the game, as well as on the field.

The LA Rams and the Seattle Seahawks are both 3-1 on the season.  They have both shown to be powerful opponents so far, but have also had a few minutes of weakness, such as when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers managed to put 55 points on the board last week.  Given the fact that the Seahawks beat the Arizona Cardinals, money switched from the Rams to the Seahawks, and this is where it is now.  It will be surprising if the Rams are able to find victory.

Two winless teams will face off on Sunday when the Cards take on the Cincinnati Bengals.  The Cards have only a slight advantage – they tied one game, as opposed to the four losses suffered by the Bengals – and shouldn’t have difficulty rolling over the team that suffered a humiliating 27-3 defeat against the Pittsburgh Steelers last week.

The 3-1 New Orleans Saints are hoping to make easy work of the 2-2 Bucs on Sunday, and having the home field advantage might give them the edge.  The Saints were the underdog against the Dallas Cowboys last week and managed to pull off a close victory, but the Bucs have a secret.  Their 55-40 win against the Rams, as 10-point underdogs, showed that the team isn’t ready to be considered out and forgotten, and will most likely pull ahead in a close game to secure the victory.
