Lakers Hope To Turn Things Around In Tonight’s NBA Action

We return to a full-on slate of nine NBA games for tonight’s Friday night action.  The first contest will take place when the 15-15 Indiana Pacers travel up to Boston to take on the skidding 15-17 Celtics at TD Garden.

Celtics Get The Edge Against Indiana

Boston has just lost three straight games but, in spite of their recent woes, the Celtics are listed as 3.5-point home court favorites for tonight’s action.  Oddsmakers have put the moneylines at Boston -155 and Indiana +130 with the Over/Under for the game now at 219.5, according to Unibet.

Even though the 16-17 Toronto Raptors have just lost two games in a row, their chances are good to get back on track tonight.  They host the hapless 11-19 Houston Rockets at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, where the game is being played tonight due to COVID-19 restrictions.  The Raptors are 8.5-point home court favorites with the Over/Under at 221.5.  Oddsmakers have the moneylines at Toronto -375 and Houston +295.

Bulls Look For Five Straight

In the Windy City of Chicago tonight at the United Center, the 15-16 Chicago Bulls will attempt to stretch their winning streak to four games against the surging 20-11 Phoenix Suns.  However, that won’t be easy, as the Bulls are listed as 5.5-point home court underdogs, according to Unibet, and the Suns are hot.   The Over/Under for the game is at 225 and moneylines are now at Phoenix -220 and Chicago +180.

In a game between two teams with not much to lose, the 12-20 Sacramento Kings will take their nine-game losing streak into Detroit tonight as the 9-23 Pistons welcome in the Kings as one-point home underdogs.  The Over/Under for the game is at 225.5 and oddsmakers have put the moneylines at Kings -114 and Pistons -106.

Miami To Tangle With The Jazz

The Miami Heat have been on a roll to the tune of four straight victories.  But tonight, they will face one of the team’s toughest tests of the season when the 15-17 Heat welcome the 26-6 Utah Jazz as 7-point home court underdogs.  Utah is the winningest team in the NBA and the moneylines for tonight’s action are currently at Jazz-275 and Heat +225, with the Over/Under at 217.5.

At one point in their game last night, the Memphis Grizzlies led the LA Clippers by 30 points.  Tonight, the 23-11 Clippers will visit the 14-14 Grizzlies on their home court in Memphis as 6.5-point favorites on the road.   The Over/Under for the game is at 225 and oddsmakers have the moneylines at LA -295 and Memphis +235.

Hawks And Thunder Go Through The Motions

In another contest between two teams without much left to play for even before we reach the All-Star break, the 14-18 Atlanta Hawks will be in Oklahoma City tonight to take on the 13-19 OKC Thunder as 5-point favorites on the road.  The Over/Under for the game is at 226.5 and moneylines are  Atlanta-210 and OKC +170.

The 15-16, Charlotte Hornets are still trying to get over that .500 mark.  They will try again when they travel out to San Francisco to take on the 18-15 Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center as 6-point underdogs.  Moneylines for the game re Warriors -230 and Hornets +188 and oddsmakers have the Over/Under at 233.

The big game today is out in California when the 22-11 LA Lakers are going to give it another try without the services of big man Anthony Davis.  They welcome in the 18-13 Portland Trail Blazers to the Staples Center in downtown LA as 5.5-point home court favorites, and oddsmakers have the moneylines at Lakers -210 and Trail Blazers +175 with the Over/Under at 222.5.  However, with how poorly the Lakers have been playing, this is a game to watch.
