We’re getting closer to March Madness…can’t wait! Although with all the no fan news, it is sounding like March Sadness.

I’m going to write a daily piece that highlights my favorite daily picks on the sports slate.

Yesterday, I finished the day 2-1.

Anyways, while everyday is a new opportunity and I don’t want to get sucked into the past, I think it’s worth reviewing things each day. This will help us get better as we move forward.

I bet:

– UIC +4.5 (loss) – we won a ton of money on UIC this year, so can’t blame them. They ran out of gas in this one.

– Nets +12 (won) – Brooklyn won straight up! Love it!

– Pacers +3.5 (won) – This is why getting the best number is so key. If you got it at 3 you pushed. I will take the comeback by the Pacers!

2020 Players Championship Picks

Ok, so I know there is a ton of basketball out there today, but going to try something different for today’s column. The 2020 PLAYERS Championship begins on Thursday at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., so I figured I would throw out a sleepers post for y’all instead.

We did the research for you so, so here are our three favorite sleepers for this weekend:

Ok, so first things first, these are my sleepers (the full odds are at the end of this post). A sleeper in my book is someone who has some long odds (9-1 or greater) but has the talent to be right there on Sunday.

Max Homa +18000 ($10 bet would win $1,800)

Homa comes into this playing solid golf. Usually, this is the best indicator for someone who ends up winning this thing. Common sense, yes, but sometimes people are all in on the big names instead of the facts.

In fact, he finished in the top-25 in his last five starts, including in last week’s API tournament. Prior to the API, he finished in the top-15 in his last four PGA events.

For someone who I believe is going to be there going into Sunday, +18000 is a steal.

Scottie Scheffler +9500

The former champs at the TPC Sawgrass historically include guys who excel at par-4 and par-5 scoring. Scheffler is in the top-five in the field in both metrics. Granted it is a small sample set because he is a newbie, but that is something we should be able to count on in this tournament.

His troubles come on par-3 holes unfortunately. That is already caked into the odds. But, again, we are looking for talented long-shots here. He certainly has the talent, and if he can just not mess up on the par-3s, he might be someone that can make a deep run in this tournament.

Joel Dahmen +12500

I love this man and his bucket hat this weekend. Most notably because he is coming off back-to-back top-5 finishes in his last two events. He has also finished in the top-15 in four out of his last five tournaments.

In his PLAYERS debut last year, he finished in 12th place. It is a course he has excelled at and he is striking the ball consistently right now. He is also a very reliable fairway finder, which will help him this week, no matter the weather conditions.
