Two of the Final NFL Preseason Games Offer Great Betting Action

Two of the Final NFL Preseason Games Offer Great Betting Action

Thursday night in the NFL features two games on the schedule in this final week of the 2022 preseason. Here’s a look at what to expect as teams are less than a week away from making the final roster cuts before the start of the season.

Packers and Chiefs Go For Second Preseason Win

The Green Bay Packers travel to Arrowhead Stadium to face the Kansas City Chiefs in their final game of the preseason. After losing their first game, Green Bay was victorious last week with a 20-10 victory over the New Orleans Saints. Jordan Love took the majority of snaps in the game for the Packers, throwing for 113 yards and one touchdown while completing 50% of his passes.

The Chiefs also lost their first preseason contest but rebounded with a win against the Washington Commanders in last week’s action. Patrick Mahomes started the game and threw two touchdowns in the first half to WR Jody Fortson.

The Chiefs have won four of their last five preseason games and only allowed 14 points and 318 yards against Washington. However, Mahomes won’t likely play in tonight’s game, as coach Andy Reid will focus on evaluating players with the final 27 roster cuts coming up before the August 30 deadline.

Green Bay wins in a close contest on the road.

49ers Face Texans in Battle of Undefeated Teams

The San Francisco 49ers travel to Houston to take on the Texans in their last preseason game. Both teams are 2-0 as the 49ers bring one of the best defenses into tonight’s matchup. The Texans haven’t yet decided on a starting quarterback and have one of the worst offenses in the NFL.

The Niners trailed 7-6 until putting up 11 points in the fourth quarter against the Vikings last week to take a 17-7 win. QB Nate Sudfeld was 13-17 for 102 yards and a touchdown for San Francisco.

Houston won their first preseason game against the Saints and followed that up with a 24-20 win over the Rams. Davis Mills was 10-17 for 96 yards and a touchdown in this matchup to lead the Texans. Their offense has done well in the preseason, scoring 41 points in the first two games, but they must limit turnovers, as they lost two fumbles in the last game against Minnesota.

San Francisco wins to finish the preseason 3-0.

Many Veteran Free Agents Surprisingly Still Without A Team

With most teams looking to make cuts in the next week, many talented free agents are still available that have spent the preseason on the sideline. There’s no doubt many of them will find teams once clubs evaluate their final rosters before the regular season starts.

One of those players is Odell Beckham Jr, who wasn’t signed before training camp after suffering a torn ACL after catching a touchdown in the last Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams. The team has said they are still interested in Beckham, but the rumors are that he’s also receiving interest from several other contenders.

Other top free agents that have yet to be signed are former Colts OT Eric Fisher, who could help any team looking to solidify their offensive line. In addition, former New England Patriots two-time Pro Bowl LB Dont’a Hightower, former Packers CB Kevin King, and Tampa Bay DT Ndamukong Suh are some other big names still waiting to be signed for the 2022 season.
