With the 2020 NFL season finally here that means we have to get back to work with our weekly player props. So, let’s try to build on our success from last year and get right into our week 1 picks.
Tom Brady OVER 249 passing yards AND Tampa Bay to win | +179
This feels like such a gift, I almost feel guilty for making it my top prop bet of week 1.
First off, I don’t see the Bucs losing this game with all the hype surrounding their new-look offense. The coaching staff will have gone above and beyond to make sure this squad will be firing on all cylinders out of the gate.
Tom Brady, injuries aside, will shine in this system and put up the kind of numbers we haven’t seen out of him in years.
With two wideouts who should easily surpass 1000 yards to go along with Gronk, Brady should have no trouble finding a quality target to throw to.
He started last year surpassing the 250 yard mark in eight of his first nine games with an inferior offense.
Despite falling off a bit toward the end of 2019, Brady started off hot and I expect more of the same here.
He and the Bucs just have too much to prove to lay an egg week one.
DeSean Jackson OVER 79 receiving yards AND Philadelphia to win | +174
Jackson gets a nod here for two basic reasons.
The Lack of weapons for Carson Wentz and simple revenge.
First off, this Philly team is lacking in wideout depth and talent which leaves Jackson in the position to clean up until a clear second emerges. D Jax averaged 15.9 PPG in standard leagues last year in games where he was targeted at least five times. If he sees less than five targets this weekend ill be shocked and the Eagles will struggle to move the ball at all.
This is also a game that Jackson would love to stick it to his old team despite their new look.
I think he has a big game this weekend and the Eagles cruise to a win behind Wentz to start the year.
