Several NFL Teams Will Look Different Next Season

There’s a lot of news in the NFL as teams decide which free agents they look to sign once the league’s calendar year begins on March 16. In the meantime, there’s still plenty of other activity going on. Brian Flores found a new home, but Aaron Rodgers doesn’t know what he wants to do.

Flores Hired By Steelers

Former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores has a new job. Last week, he was hired by the Pittsburgh Steelers as a senior defensive assistant and linebackers coach. The team hired Flores not long after he filed a class-action lawsuit against the NFL, the Miami Dolphins, the New York Giants, and the Denver Broncos, accusing the organizations of racial discrimination in their hiring process.

Flores also accuses Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross of offering him $100,000 per loss in 2018 in order to get a high draft pick in the 2019 draft. In an interview on Tuesday, the former Miami coach said that Ross tried to get him to sign a non-disclosure agreement after being fired, which could have kept him from filing the lawsuit.

The Dolphins issued a statement on Tuesday that denies they wanted Flores to sign the agreement. However, just a few minutes later, Flores’ attorney Doug Wigdor posted screenshots on Twitter of what he claimed to be the actual document that Flores refused to sign.

All parties named in the lawsuit are denying the allegations made against them.

Rodgers Still Hasn’t Decided His Future

In an interview on The Pat McAfee show on Tuesday, Aaron Rodgers says he still has decided what his future will be in the NFL. On Monday, he thanked his teammates and the Packers organization in a lengthy post on Instagram, featuring pics of himself along with his teammates. However, Rodgers explained that the post was not related to any decision about his playing future.

The two-time reigning NFL MVP led Green Bay to two straight 13-win seasons, with the team falling short of expectations in each. He’s still under contract for two more years as the team has already drafted Jordan Love, the QB who will eventually replace him.

Rodgers was a holdout in 2021 and didn’t participate in organized team activities or the team’s minicamp last offseason. He is also waiting on the Packers’ decision on whether to put a franchise tag on WR Devonte Adams. The two players have expressed their desire to play together next season, whether with the Packers or another team.

Brady Rumored To Make Return With 49ers in 2022

Tom Brady announced his retirement from the NFL recently, but there are now rumors of him returning next season. He could become the new quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers. In a recent article, NBC Sports contributor Mike Florio said that he received an email “from an extremely reliable, anonymous source” that Brady will be signing with the team.

The 49ers were his favorite team growing up. With the Niners shopping QB Jimmy Garoppolo this offseason, it may be the only chance he’ll ever have to play for San Francisco.

The 44-year-old Brady was the NFL’s leader in passing yards last season. He was also a candidate for league MVP, which Aaron Rodgers won for the second straight year. He also was the league leader in completions and touchdowns. If the rumors are true, the move could immediately make the 49ers one of the favorites to win next season’s Super Bowl.
