The final games of the Sweet 16 round of March Madness will be held today, with the final four teams to appear in the Elite Eight on the line. The matchups have already given surprising results and more of the same is coming in college basketball today.

Alabama Faces San Diego State

In their latest game, the Alabama Crimson Tide achieved a 73-51 victory over Maryland, resulting in their current 31-5 season record. Their success was evident through their accuracy and rebounding margin. On average, the Crimson Tide continue to thrive with 82.3 points per game while allowing 68.2 points against them and demonstrating their strong teamwork with 15.1 assists per game.

Having won their previous match against Furman 75-52, the San Diego State Aztecs have attained an impressive record of 29-6 this season. With a 50% shooting accuracy and an extraordinary 17 rebounding margin, the team displayed their exceptional skills on the court. San Diego State has thus far demonstrated an average score of 71.9 points per game while keeping their opponents at a score of 63.1 points. In terms of rebounds and assists, the team has been achieving an average of 36 per game and 13.5 per game, respectively.

For all of their offensive strength, the Aztecs are going to run into difficulty tonight, with the Razorbacks moving forward in the tournament.

Cougars Continue To Dominate

The Houston Cougars have secured an impressive 33-3 record for this season. In their most recent match, they dominated over Auburn with a score of 81-64, presenting an impactful 41.7% field goal conversion and an 11 rebounding difference. Their average statistics for the season remain noteworthy, boasting 74.9 points per game, while allowing only 56.6 points against.  

The latest game for the Miami Hurricanes saw them clinch an 85-69 victory against Indiana, taking their season record to 27-7. Miami exhibited a 48.6% accuracy rate from the field and dominated the boards with an astounding 17 rebounding margin. In terms of season averages, Miami is recording 79.1 points per game, conceding 71.6 points per game, racking up 35.1 rebounds per game and providing 14.6 assists per game.

Miami’s performance this season includes an average of 48.6% from the field, 77.6% for free throws and 36.8% for three-pointers. That’s going to help them as they take down the Cougars.

Creighton Gaining Strength

With a record of 23-12, the Creighton Bluejays are gearing up for the game ahead against the sleeping Princeton Tigers. While they may not have been entirely consistent in the last week of the regular season, they are gaining momentum at a pivotal moment. Their latest win was against NC State, finishing at 72-63, and they took home an impressive victory against Baylor with a score of 85-76.

Princeton has surprised many after making it to the Sweet 16. They weren’t initially considered to be a strong team, but after winning two key games, they proved themselves. Princeton’s offense has been scoring an average of 75.5 points per game, but its defense has been allowing 67.9 points per game to the opposing team.

This is going to be a tough game for both teams. However, Creighton is going to secure the win.

Longhorns Mean Business

The Xavier Musketeers secured a spot in the quarterfinals with a 27-9 record following their triumph over Pittsburgh. The Musketeers were quick to take the lead and limited the Panthers to only 11 points, winning by a score of 84-73. Xavier is now well-prepared to face a formidable Texas Longhorns defense.

The Longhorns managed to keep their lead against the Penn State Nittany Lions during the first half of their round two game and ultimately won by a margin of five points. Ever since their defeat against Kansas in the previous season, Texas has been on a winning streak. They secured the Big 12 championship and haven’t looked back since.

For all of its attempts tonight, the Musketeers are going to fall short to a superior Longhorns offense.
