Sports Intel’s Intelligent Picks

Get ready for some exciting games today across all sports. In particular, Thursday Night Football offers a nice matchup between the Atlanta Falcons and the New England Patriots, and the NBA has several interesting contests on the schedule. Sports Intel’s intelligent picks and parlays will give you an edge when it’s time to place your bets.

Pats Take on the Falcons

With four straight wins straight up and against the spread, the New England Patriots appear to be in a groove. The Atlanta Falcons, however, remain one of many inconsistent and unreliable NFL teams.

With this in mind, nearly 80% of the bets have come in for New England at -7, with most expecting the Pats to continue their streak. Atlanta has had a few surprises lately, but this likely won’t be one of them. At around -290, the Pats are too far ahead, but backing the 47 total to go over could produce a winner.

Denver Nuggets Welcome the Philadelphia 76ers

Philly has suffered five consecutive losses since Joel Embiid was placed on the NBA COVID-19 list. The Sixers rank second in defensive efficiency, rebounding and team rating over this span. The Nuggets beat the Sixers twice in regular-season meetings last year, but Embiid was absent for each contest.

Denver needs to be cautious with the ball and keep its offense flowing through Luka Jokic. The Sixers have surrendered the most paint, fastbreak and second-chance points per match since Embiid was out. The Nuggets should take the win, but in a low-scoring game.

Heat Host the Wiz

The Washington Wizards will be in South Beach for a game against the Miami Heat at FTX Arena. These two teams will be playing in the second leg of a back-to-back. Washington lost Wednesday’s five-game winning streak to the Charlotte Hornets, 97-87, while Miami, a 6.5 point home favorite, rallied from a 15-point deficit in the first quarter to defeat the New Orleans Pelicans.

Miami won two of the three regular-season meetings against Washington. Although the Wizards defeated the 6-seed Cleveland Cavaliers, that’s still the only team Washington has defeated with a winning record. Miami has beaten the Utah Jazz twice, Dallas Mavericks three times, Brooklyn Nets four times and Charlotte Hornets once. Back the Heat and expect the score to go over.

The Raptors Stay on the Road against the Jazz

In the second of their six-game road trip, the Toronto Raptors take on the Utah Jazz at Vivint Arena, Salt Lake City. Monday’s start of their six-game road trip saw the Raptors lose 118 to 113 at Portland Trail Blazers, their second consecutive loss. They have dropped five of six games in a row and are now 5-2 on the road. Five players in Toronto average at least 16 points per contest, F OG Anunoby being the leader with a 20.1 point per game average.

The Jazz conclude their five-game homestand on Thursday. They come off a win of 120-85 over the 76ers, but have lost four of their five previous outings. Still, the Jazz are huge money favorites tonight and looking at the moneyline doesn’t offer much return. Take the Under, instead.
