I’m going to write a daily piece that highlights my favorite daily picks on the sports slate.

Yesterday I finished the day 2-1, bouncing back from a 1-2 Tuesday.

Anyways, while everyday is a new opportunity and I don’t want to get sucked into the past, I think it’s worth reviewing things each day. This will help us get better as we move forward. So, here goes:

I bet:

– Arkansas -2.5 (won) – Ark led pretty much wire to wire. I wish more bets could go this way.

– Pelicans +6 (won) – This was a fun game to watch, until it went to overtime. The Pelicans had a chance to win straight up as I predicted, so happy with the result.

– Thunder-Pistons under 211 (loss) – Lost by 10, not good. Pace was faster than I expected.

Now, onto today’s card. We have all day college basketball matchups and a four-game NBA picks slate.

We did the research for you so, so here are our three favorite bets for today:

Vik’s Picks March 5

Boise State +2 at UNLV

This is a fishy line to me. UNLV beat Boise State by 10 recently, yet the line is very short today. It is also coming down, and I see it going to 1 or pk ‘em near tip-off. I have Boise winning straight up, but try to grab the best number you can.

UNLV looks like it will be without Elijah Mitrou-Long, who is one of their best players. The split stats with him and off the court this season are pretty eye-opening. His loss is going to be felt in a big way for UNLV, especially against this Boise State team.

Him being out has not seemed to affect the public perception of a hot UNLV team. Over 70% of the public is on them today, which makes me feel a little better about my bet.

Matchups wise, Boise State has a very strong defense and a very high defensive turnover percentage. UNLV already has a high turnover %, and with their senior guard Mitrou-Long out, they are going to be in trouble.

Sixers at Kings -4.5

We’ve talked about the Sixers home vs. road splits before. They are 9-23 away from home. At home they are 2nd in net rating and defensive rating, on the road they are 24th in net rating and 20th in defensive rating. Their offensive ratings also drop from 10th to 25th. Also, don’t forget the injury issues they are currently dealing with, as Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid and Josh Richardson will be out again tonight. Those are three of their four best players.

They’ve also been on this long West Coast trip, that doesn’t help either.

The Kings come into this game fighting for their playoff lives. That has elevated their game, as they’ve won three games in a row and have gone 7-3 over their last ten games.

Also, even though the public is on Philly, the line has gone up from -3.5 to -4.5, indicating reverse line movement on the Kings. Basically, some sharp money is backing them.

This one has a blowout written all over it for me, so I will grab the Kings. The line is going up, would play it at 5 as well.

Youngstown at UIC -3.5

Youngstown burned us a couple days ago with a lucky cover against UWM, but I am fading them again in this spot today.

They are bad from the FT line and have a terrible defense. On the flip side, they play a UIC team that is coming together at the right time.

They’ve won four out of their last five games and have the best statistical defense in the Horizon League. They also have a Senior-laden team, which always helps come tournament time.

The public is on Youngstown at a 70% clip, which makes me love UIC even more tonight. I have UIC winning by 7+ tonight.
