The NBA restart has been a blast to watch and gamble on. Today we have 7 games & 14 teams in action. The “regular season” is winding down, but we’re still looking for the final playoff team in the West. The Memphis Grizzlies hold a half-game lead over the Portland Trail Blazers for the No. 8 spot, and the Blazers are just a half-game up on the Phoenix Suns and San Antonio Spurs. Both the Grizzlies and Blazers have big games today, so I looked into those a little more and found a bet I like. Let’s get to the card. After doing research, here is my favorite NBA pick for today’s slate on Aug 11:

Memphis Grizzlies +4 vs. Boston Celtics

This is a make or break game for Memphis, so the motivational factor should be there. The Celtics, on the flip side, are locked into the third seed in the East. Because of that, look for them to give Kemba Walker some rest and stagger some minutes for some of their other stars.

Once Jaren Johnson, Jr. (JJJ) went down for Memphis, it seems like their bottom fell out. They’ve gone just 1-5 in their last six games, which has them on the ropes in terms of making the playoffs. JJJ was an integral cog for the team, so it makes sense. To combat his loss, Memphis has inserted veteran Anthony Tolliver into the lineup, and the numbers have looked good the last two games.

Tolliver is a 37.3% lifetime 3-PT shooter, which helps space the floor for the Grizz and Ja Morant. With him in the lineup they beat the Thunder and lost a close one to the Raptors.

I like the lineup change for Memphis and the fact that they are playing for their playoff lives today. There is also a chance that Boston rests Walker and some of their other stars. For those reasons, give me the Grizz. If you are feeling lucky, they are worth a sprinkle on the moneyline.

So, there’s our NBA pick for Aug 11, good luck guys.
