MLB Swings Into The Weekend With Hot Games

MLB Swings Into The Weekend With Hot Games

The NBA is wrapping up its regular season this weekend and will soon begin planning for the playoffs. As it does, MLB is just getting into its rhythm and has several hot games on tap for Friday.

Yankees Off To Baltimore

The MLB game between the New York Yankees and Baltimore Orioles will take place at Oriole Park on Friday after being delayed from Thursday because of unfavorable weather conditions. The Yankees faced off against the Phillies in a series just prior and after getting split results in the first two games, they went on to win two matches on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Baltimore met the Texas Rangers this week, winning all three games. Their first three-game series of the season opposing the Boston Red Sox resulted in two losses, although the O’s offense demonstrated competence throughout the matches. In total, the team scored 23 runs across three games while conceding nine runs in each encounter.

The O’s showed hints of what they were capable of as that series continued to unfold, and they’re ready to do it again. For all the Yankees posturing, Baltimore takes tonight’s game.

Astros Look To Strengthen Their Position

The Houston Astros will face off against the Minnesota Twins at Target Field in another match that was initially slated for Thursday, but which was called off due to weather. After dropping the first two games in a recent series against the Detroit Tigers, Houston rallied to win the finale on Wednesday.

Minnesota squared off against the Miami Marlins during the week and didn’t do well. Minnesota had an even share of victories with their rivals in the opening two games, but they then lost the third by three runs on Wednesday. In the first game, however, the Twins belted in 11 runs to just one for the Marlins.

Sonny Gray gave an outstanding performance for the Twins during the season’s inauguration on April 1, helping the team secure a 2-0 victory over the KC Royals. The team is currently performing remarkably well in their ground-based tactics and has been working hard to enhance their shooting abilities with a promising start.

Lopez gave the Twins a promising start on Wednesday, but their loss was sealed during the eighth inning by the bullpen. For Minnesota to improve, they must enhance their performance and are in a good spot to do it tonight. The Twins can take this contest.

Dodgers Continue Series Against The D-backs

The MLB action at Chase Field on Friday continues with a four-game series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks. This is the second match and in the opener on Thursday, the Dodgers clinched the game by three runs.

Before this, the Dodgers faced the Colorado Rockies twice and emerged victorious in both, thrashing them 13-4 and 5-2. To kick off their game against Arizona on Thursday, Los Angeles scored three runs early on and preserved the lead for a final score of 5-2. Dustin May started as pitcher for the Dodgers and executed a solid performance, allowing only one earned run from two hits and two walks through six innings.

The D-backs and Dodgers faced each other in the beginning of the season, resulting in a tie of 2-2 in the four games. That mirrored their matches in Spring Training, and the battle for control of the National League West now continues.

Clayton Kershaw’s presence on the mount could be instrumental in securing a victory for the Dodgers. He skillfully handled the Diamondbacks previously by limiting their hitting ability and is ready for more. Despite a rough start, the Dodgers had a successful opening game on Thursday and will do the same tonight.
