Lakers Look To Recover As They Take On The Jazz

Lakers Look To Recover As They Take On The Jazz

Tonight, the NBA presents us with a full slate of nine mid-week games.  The first finds the 15-14 Indiana Pacers, coming off a week’s inactivity, hosting the 17-15 Golden State Warriors at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis as 2-point home court favorites, according to Unibet.  Following this contest, there is going to be a lot more hot action to watch.

Pacers Host The Warriors

Stephen Curry continues to average over 30 points per game and the Warriors will be playing in their fourth game of a six-game road trip.  That journey includes a 114-106 victory over the New York Knicks on Tuesday evening.  Oddsmakers have the moneylines at Pacers -129 and Warriors +107 with the Over/Under at 229.5.

The 15-16 Boston Celtics, who have once again dropped beneath the .500 mark on the season, will be in Atlanta tonight to take on the 13-18 Hawks at the State Farm Arena.  Both teams have stamina and injury issues at this point, and the Hawks will also be without the services of starting guard Cam Reddish, dealing with an Achilles strain.  The Celtics will be 3.5-point road favorites to win tonight with the Over/Under at 227.5.  Moneylines are at Boston -155 and Atlanta +130.

Rockets Losing Fuel Quickly

The Houston Rockets, already dealing with multiple injuries and a losing season, have released veteran center DeMarcus Cousins.  Tonight, in a battle between two teams going nowhere fast, the 11-18 Rockets will be in Cleveland at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse to face the 11-21 Cavaliers as 3-point favorites on the road.  Oddsmakers have the Over/Under at 217 with the moneylines for the game tonight at Houston -141 & Cleveland +118.

The Miami Heat have now won three straight games on the road and are showing signs of life in spite of the slow start they displayed at the beginning of the season.  Tonight, the 14-17 Heat will host the 16-16 Toronto Raptors at the American Airlines Arena in Miami as 3-point home court favorites.  The moneylines for tonight are at Miami -143 & Toronto +123 with the Over/Under at 214.5 for the contest.

Williamson Becomes An All-Star

Young Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans was selected to his first NBA All-Star roster yesterday, albeit as a reserve.  But, still, it is a great honor for the second year big man and former number one pick in the NBA Draft.  Tonight, he and the 13-17 Pelicans will welcome into the Smoothie King Center in downtown New Orleans the hapless 9-22 Detroit Pistons as a whopping 9.5-point home court favorites.  Moneylines for the game have the Pelicans at -455 and the Pistons at+350. The Over/Under for the contest is at 223.

The 14-16 Chicago Bulls will host the struggling 7-25 Minnesota Timberwolves tonight at the United Center in downtown Chicago as 4-point home court favorites.  The Over/Under for the game is at 229 and oddsmakers have the moneylines at Chicago -165 and Minnesota +138.

Head coach Gregg Popovich and his 16-11 San Antonio Spurs will be in Oklahoma City tonight at the Chesapeake Energy Arena to tackle the 12-19 Thunder as 2.5-point underdogs on the road.  Moneylines for the game are OKC -139 and San Antonio +117, with the Over/Under at 217.

Suns Have Easy Night Against Charlotte

The 14-16 Charlotte Hornets will be out in Phoenix tonight at the PHX Arena to take on the surging 20-10 Suns, led by veteran point guard Chris Paul, as 9.5-point underdogs on the road.  Moneylines for the game are at Phoenix -455 and Charlotte +350 with the Over/Under at 226 for the game.

And, finally, it’s look out, LeBr0n and company tonight, when the 22-10 LA Lakers visit Salt Lake City to take on the league-leading, 25-6 Utah Jazz at the Vivint Smart Home Arena.  They are listed as 8.5-point underdogs by Unibet for this road game, and this is the widest spread that the Lakers have faced all year long.  They are still without the services tonight of big man Anthony Davis, who is still nursing a calf injury and LeBron himself is reportedly banged up.  The Over/Under for the game is at 218.5 and oddsmakers have the moneylines at Jazz -345 and Lakers +280.
