With NFL Week 16 on its way, the Titans will be ready to play the 49ers as both squads pursue playoff standings. As for NBA Thursday action, the Mavs will try to overcome the Bucks and Miami will look to beat the Pistons.
Titans Face the 49ers
In the NFL, in first place in the AFC South with a 9-5 record, the Tennessee Titans are already looking to confirm their spot in the playoffs with a solid win over the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday night.
For San Francisco, in the third spot in the NFC West with an 8-6 record, their chances are still strong for a second wild-card chance. However, with a tight 26-23 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 14 and a solid 31-13 victory over the Atlanta Falcons last week, the squad is now on a roll and attempting to keep that mark consistent.
The Titans should be able to take this one with home-field advantage.
Mavs a Long-Shot to Knock Bucks from the Top
The Dallas Mavericks are second in the Southwest with an even 15-15 season record. For the squad, a win over the Milwaukee Bucks might allow them to make a comeback as the NBA season moves forward.
Milwaukee is now second overall in the Central and fourth overall in the Eastern Conference. The Bucks will attempt to win their 20th game of the season and put some pressure on the Heat, Bulls, and Nets, who currently lead in the East standings.
The Bucks should be able to pull a win over Mavs despite holding on to a more favorable 3-2 mark in their previous five performances.
Miami to Fuel Pistons for Revenge Matchup
The Heat are now 19-13 and first in the Southeast. Although marching on a 3-2 record over their last five games, they target Detroit for their revenge matchup. It was last Sunday night when the Pistons got the 100-90 win over Miami, and the Heat picked up their ninth defeat of the season.
As for the Pistons, a 1-4 mark over their last five games pretty much translates into what a disastrous season it’s been for the Detroit squad. Their previous win over Miami was their first victory after 14 consecutive losses. To Detroit, there is nowhere to go but upwards.
However, a much different story is expected in Miami. The local team should be able to pull off the revenge win.
