Vik’s Picks! NFL Draft Picks And Parlays

What’s up everyone? Hope y’all are staying safe out there during these hard times. Regardless of the pandemic, the 2020 NFL Draft is still moving forward as scheduled. The draft is slated to take place starting Thursday (April 23-25), which gives us an opportunity to look at some betting futures for the incoming class.

Vik’s NFL Draft Picks 2020

I’m anticipating this year’s draft to be absolutely wild, similar to what we all do during our Fantasy Football drafts, which should make it as interesting as ever. From a bettor’s perspective, we should be able to find some value in these odds due to the craziness.

Anyways, I did the research for you, so here are my three favorite NFL picks and parlays as draft day approaches. As always, make sure you shop around for the best price, especially because they are always changing. Every dollar counts in this game.

Justin Jefferson Draft Position: Under 20.5 (-110)

From everything I have heard, read and seen, Jefferson looks like a shoo-in to be selected in the top-20. Everyone is talking about the Eagles being in love with him which is why he’s the first of my NFL Draft picks. It makes sense, as WR is one of their biggest needs. One move that stuck out to me this week was when Philadelphia’s odds to select a WR with their first pick moved from -125 to -200. That is a significant jump when it comes to prop bets.

As of today, Jefferson is the consensus fourth-best WR in this class. While this is a deep WR class, there are only four or five receivers that GMs and scouts actually think can move the needle immediately at the position. Jefferson is being touted as one of those guys.

And, with the top three WRs moving up draft boards, that should push Jefferson up the board. There are plenty of wide receiver hungry teams both in front of and behind Philly to jump them if Jefferson even makes it to 21. One team that sticks out is Jacksonville, who is selecting in the 20 slot. They just let go of Marqise Lee and desperately need a WR.

At the end of the day, I love the line movement and the news I’m hearing about Jefferson’s position, which makes this one of my favorite bets on the board.

QBs drafted in first round: Over 4 (-120)

Betting over four appears to be a free shot because at worst this bet should push. Anytime you can get a shot at a free roll, you should take it.

Mostly everyone agrees that Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert and Tua Tagovailoa will all be drafted in the first round. After the big 3 are off the board, Jordan Love is now considered to be a lock to go in the first round. Love’s stock has been rising since the NFL scouting combine. In fact, I would not be surprised to see all four QBs go in the top 12 slots. Once that happens, this bet is a push and then it is free roll time.

Three other QBs that have some potential to go in the first round are Jacob Eason, Jake Fromm and Jalen Hurts. While Hurts is a long shot, Fromm and Eason both have a chance to go late in the first-round. Eason has quietly made his way up in several mock drafts and is catching steam in the NFL circles.

That is why this is a bet you have to take a chance on, you have nothing to lose.

Henry Ruggs III — Draft Position Under 15.5 (+105)

I know speed is not the only factor to look for in WRs, but nowadays, speed kills, especially with everyone looking for the next Tyreke Hill. Also, recent history suggests we shouldn’t discount the speedy receiver’s odds to be selected higher than anticipated.

As I talked about with Jefferson, this is one of the strongest wide receiver draft classes we have ever seen, but it is top-heavy. Ruggs showed off his speed after recording a 4.27-second 40-yard dash. That is the kind of time that NFL scouts salivate over.

While he still has a lot of areas he can improve on, the kid can flat-out fly. And, if we’ve learned anything from recent drafts, nothing else causes receivers to rise up draft boards like pure speed.

Being selected in the top half of the first round feels like a gimme for the fastest player at this year’s NFL Scouting Combine. I don’t see him getting past the Las Vegas Raiders or the San Francisco Niners.

Thanks for reading my NFL Draft picks and good luck this weekend!
