Now that most of the big free agents have changed teams and the NFL Draft is over, we have a pretty good idea of what rosters are going to look like. After taking into account rosters, SOS, point differential, injuries, new QBs and coaches, I have a better feel for the NFC East over under bets that I like and don’t like for the upcoming season.

Of course now that the draft is over, oddsmakers have also done the same, and adjusted some of their season totals. Here are the most updated win totals for the NFL over under betting, but make sure you shop around:

Buckle up, because I am going to start giving you my division by division breakdown on how I see these totals playing out this season for the over under and today I will look at the NFC East.

NFC East Over Under Picks

Dallas Cowboys over 9.5

The Cowboys had the most talent in the division last season, but finished with an 8-8 mark. The disappointing season caused Jerry Jones to make a change at the coaching position, as many blamed Jason Garrett for holding the team back. Now that Garrett has been replaced by Mike McCarthy, we will really get to put that theory to the test.

The Cowboys have added more talent to the roster via the draft and free agency, especially on the offensive side of the football, so it is now or never for this version.

The Cowboys will be the best team in the division, but their schedule worries me a slight bit. The main issue is they are playing the NFC West and the AFC North. They will face some tough tests.

Dallas won five out of their eight games last season within the division. They should be able to do the same this season, especially with the Giants and Redskins still a long ways away from competing for the division. If they can take care of business against the Bengals and Cardinals too, then they should be able to finish with right around 10 wins.

Call me a sucker, but I will take the over as they are the clear cut, most talented team in this division. While I am not the biggest McCarthy fan, he has the experience to help this team make an incremental jump next year.

Philadelphia Eagles under 9.5

The Eagles are the reigning NFC East division champs, but at times, it was a struggle and makes the over under pick quite a hard call. While they did pick up Darius Slay and Javon Hargrave, I’m wondering if their offense has enough juice to keep up with their schedule.

The Eagles play the NFC West and AFC North, but the kicker is the late games at San Francisco and Pittsburgh. They also goto Green Bay and play the Saints.

I don’t think they improved that much in the off-season and, while I am a big Carson Wentz fan, he needs to prove he can stay healthy for a whole season. And, even if he does, the WRs and playmakers are lacking as a whole on this squad.

I have them winning 8-9 games next year, so I will take the under here.

New York Giants under 6.5

The Giants also made a coaching change, hiring Joe Judge, the Patriots special teams coordinator. While he does have some experienced coordinators he brought along with him, I just don’t trust completely new head coaches in their first year on the job to turn around a team in a huge way. Yes, there was Matt Nagy and the Bears and a couple of others, but usually you need some time under your belt to take the leap.

I was also surprised they did not break the bank during free agency as they still need a surplus of talent if they want to contend for the division  in the NFL standings. The team also lacks depth as well, so any injury to a starter will hurt them big-time.

While Barkley is dynamic, there are still too many question marks for me on both offense and defense to take the over here. Give me the under for some money.

Washington Redskins over 5

The ‘Skins, like their division foes the Cowboys and Giants, also made a coaching change. They hired Ron Rivera, whom I love. Maybe there is a Chicago Bears bias there, but he can coach. I think Riverboat Ron can help this team get back on the winning track next season.

Good fact here for bets like these, Rivera has won six or more games in every single season that he has been a head coach (nine). He is loved by players, and that should make a big difference on such a young team. Guys will play hard for him, even at the end of the year and even if they are out of contention. Those are the kinds of teams I like for to take the over on when there is a low total.

The QB position remains the team’s biggest question mark, but they definitely have some playmakers on the roster. Terry F1 McLaurin can fly and their RB group seems solid. Darius Gice showed flashes, they still have Adian Peterson who never stops and signed Peyton Barber.

I trust in Rivera and like some of their off-season moves. Give me the over.
